The heather flower has been gathered for thousands of years for its healing properties. The honey from the nectar of this bell-shaped flower is higher in protein than most honey. A true gem of Latvia with rich amber colour and bitter-sweet note, Raw Heather Honey is highly valued for its strong and aromatic tones. With a creamy-jelly consistency that sets it apart from other kinds of honey, Raw Heather Honey is the perfect source for essential vitamins, nutrients, antioxidants, enzymes, and natural flavour. Not to mention its strong aromatic tones make it the perfect compliment for your tea, yoghurt, or fruit.
Like all Bee Baltic products, our Raw Heather Honey is unpasteurized and unfiltered so retains all its delicious healthy nutritional properties. Our harvesting processes allow our Raw Heather Honey to retain all of the natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral healing properties your body deserves. Store your honey in a cool, dry place. Keep in mind, it’s a natural characteristic of raw honey to set (crystallise). Should crystallisation occur, gently warm the jar in hot water.
You may notice that over time, all Bee Baltic honey changes its structure and sets (crystallises). Additionally, you may see beautiful light patterns forming on the walls of the jar. These light patterns are commonly known across Baltic beekeepers as the "honey frost.” Crystallisation and changes in colour are all signs of natural, raw, unpasteurised, and unprocessed honey.
